No. 15 FSU tops Arizona State with late run, 65-55

FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP)—Cierra Bravard and Natasha Howard scored 21 points each to help No. 15 Florida State beat Arizona State 65-55 in the Junkanoo Jam on Saturday night.

With the game tied at 55, Florida State (6-0) scored the final 10 points over the last 2:08.

Janae Fulcher scored 13 points, and Dymond Simon added 12 points and four steals but was 4-for-16 from the field for Arizona State (3-2).

Fulcher’s jumper with 15:28 remaining put the Sun Devils up 35-28. The Seminoles rallied behind Howard, who hit a 3-pointer with 3:15 left to tie the game at 52. She then put the Seminoles up 54-52 before Fulcher countered with a three-point play to give the Sun Devils a 55-54 lead with 2:24 left.

The first of two free throws by Christian Hunnicutt tied the game at 55-55, then Bravard’s rebound and layup off Hunnicutt’s second attempt put Florida State up for good.
