On the Hoof: A very muscular athlete, Martin looks a lot like Penn State incoming freshman Silas Redd.
Needs Improvement: Martin is a bit stiff and could improve on his change of direction with agility work and stretching. Martin will need to work on running with more forward body lean, using his pads as a weapon instead of taking the full force of a defender's hit.
Most Impressive: Martin, who looks a lot bigger than his listed weight, has tremendous overall body structure. For a thick back he has above-average body control and soft hands as a receiver out of the backfield. He does a nice job of keeping his feet moving after contact, which allows him to break weak arm tackles.
Conclusion: He could be one of the bigger sleepers in the country because he combines power and pass-catching skills. If he ends up going to a non-BCS school then I expect him to make an early splash in his career. If he does end up at a BCS school then it will depend on the depth chart and his ability to work hard and learn the little things like pass protection before he sees the field.
