CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP)—Kyle Snyder threw a 23-yard touchdown pass with 37 seconds left in the game to lift Southeast Missouri State to a 37-35 victory over Urbana on Saturday.
Snyder was 7-of-15 for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He relieved starting QB Scott Lathrop late in the third quarter with the score tied at 21. On his first possession, Snyder took the Redhawks (2-7, 1-4 OVC) 32-yards in 9 plays to set up a successful Alexander Knight field goal from 38 yards and giving Southeast Missouri the lead for the first time.
The Blue Knights recaptured a 35-31 lead in the fourth which held until Snyder, with just 37 seconds left on the clock, hit Paul McRoberts from 23 yards out to put the Redhawks back on top.
Urbana’s Blaine Hafner attempted a 50-yard field goal for the win in the game’s final seconds but it was blocked by the Redhawks.
