SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—Jordan Talley ran in from a yard out for the
winning touchdown in overtime as Eastern Washington beat Sacramento State 42-35
on Saturday night.
The game was sent to overtime when Bo Levi Mitchell threw a 22-yard
touchdown pass to Nicholas Edwards and Mike Jarrett kicked the extra point with
55 seconds left in regulation.
In all, Mitchell and Edwards connected for four touchdowns, including two
others in the fourth quarter that helped the Eagles (4-4, 4-2 Big Sky) climb
back from a 28-13 deficit. Mitchell completed 29 of 45 for 357 yards. Edwards
made 11 catches for 197 yards.
Tommy Edwards threw 18 for 26 for 223 yards and two touchdowns for the
Hornets (3-4, 2-3). Garrett Safron, Bryan Hilliard and Stephen Tezanos-Pinto
each added a touchdown for the Hornets.
Mike Jarrett added a pair of field goals for the Eagles.
