Wesley, who ran for three touchdowns, led the offensive attack for Bucknell (3-1). Trailing 3-2, Wesley pounded in a run from 1 yard out to give the Bison a 10-3 lead. Princeton attempted to rebound but Josh Eden picked off quarterback Tommy Wornham and took it 27 yards for the touchdown right before halftime.
Wesley finished the game with 138 yards on 16-29 passing and added rushing touchdowns from 4 and 6 yards out late in the second half.
Princeton (0-2) struggled to protect the ball all day as the Tigers lost 3 of their 5 fumbles and Wornham threw three interceptions. Bucknell, however, had no turnovers and held the ball for 38:42 compared to just 21:18 for Princeton.
The win marks Bucknell’s first 3-1 start since 2008.
