FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP)—Dale Fink threw for 395 yards and five touchdowns on 31-of-45 passing as Sacred Heart jumped out early to beat Wagner 38-22 in Northeast Conference play on Saturday.
The Pioneers (4-7, 2-6) led 31-7 at halftime thanks to touchdown passes of 19, 36, 5 and 50 yards from Fink. Each went to a different receiver.
Jesper Fredriksson added a 30-yard field goal for Sacred Heart 16 seconds before halftime.
The lone score of the first half for the Seahawks (5-6, 3-5) came on a 23-yard touchdown run from Eric Foxworth that tied the score, 7-7, with 10:49 left in the opening quarter.
Fink’s final touchdown pass came on a 34-yard completion to Gary Coles, his second receiving touchdown, with 12:17 left. Chris Nahat, Rich Rossi and Marcel Archer had one receiving touchdown apiece.
Archer added a game-high 128 yards on 26 carries for the Pioneers.
