E. Illinois rolls past Murray State 34-6
CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP)—Freshman running back Desmin Ward scored three times as Eastern Illinois rolled past Murray State 34-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Ward finished with a game-high 94 yards on 20 carries for the Panthers (4-5, 203 OVC). He also scored three times two weeks ago against Southeast Missouri.
Eastern Illinois rushed for 226 yards, including 83 yards by Travorus Bess and 80 for Chevon Walker. The Panthers passed for 68 yards.
Murray State (3-6, 2-3 OVC) was limited to 88 yards rushing and 173 yards passing. The Racers had just two field goals, both from Kienan Cullen, who connected on a 19-yarder and a 34-yarder in the second and third quarters.
Murray State’s Nathan Williams led all players with 21 tackles, including one sack.
