Kent St. 38, Liberty 10

KENT, Ohio (AP)—Joshua Cribbs ran for 105 yards and a touchdown and passed for two more scores as Kent State raced to a 28-0 halftime lead and beat Liberty 38-10 Saturday night.

Cribbs, who rushed 13 times, had a 25-yard TD run with 10:22 left in the second period as Kent State (1-1) went ahead 21-0.

He also threw scoring passes of 7 yards to Derrick Bush with 10:13 left in the first period and 8 yards to Brian Bell with 1:48 left in the game.

Kent State’s David Alston ran 14 times for 70 yards, including a 6-yard TD with 9:24 left in the first period.

The Golden Flashes also scored on Kevin Beverly’s 3-yard run with 4:07 left in the first half and Travis Mayle’s 22-yard field goal with 1:40 left in the third quarter.

Paul Troth ran 11 yards for a TD for Liberty (1-1) with 11:51 left in the game. Liberty also scored on a 27-yard field goal by Zacry Kolegue with 5:33 left in the third quarter.

Liberty’s Eugene Goodman rushed 30 times for 139 yards.
