Dan Wetzel’s Week 2 college football podcast

The “Dan Wetzel College Football Podcast” managed to avoid cancellation after its inaugural episode – one that spawned the Chris Vernon viral hit “Ode to Danny Sheridan,” as well as a rather remarkably large number of actual listeners.

Now with a week of action in the books, Vernon of 730 Fox Sports Radio Memphis returns and breaks down all the action with Dan.

Vernon loves the quarterback play nationally, contemplates Mark Richt’s job status with South Carolina visiting and tries to figure out the secret to Oregon’s cheerleaders. Dan still likes Notre Dame’s future as it heads into a huge challenge at the Big House, marvels at the defensive line play of LSU, Alabama and Boise and wonders how Bret Bielema manages to wear a fully zipped jacket in 98-degree weather yet not get hot. You’ll also learn which school mascot was named “Best of Long Island.”

And that’s just a small sampling of the issues addressed.

Later, former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, author of the New York Times bestseller, “Swing Your Sword,” tells of his epic encounter with “Pepe the Dog” of Sheridan, Wyo., among other topics.

Give it a listen. It’s free and it’s not like you have anything better to do.
