Dan Wetzel’s Week 3 college football podcast

Five years ago Michigan State blew a 16-point, fourth-quarter lead to Notre Dame in a driving rain. The result devastated Detroit radio host Mike Valenti, who that Monday took to the airwaves and produced a legendary rant against his favorite team – “pucker, pucker, pucker!”

Here on Week 3 of the “Dan Wetzel College Football Podcast,” we not only replay clips of the classic and highly comical audio, Valenti joins Dan to explain himself. Dan and Mike, the co-host of the “Valenti and Foster Show” which airs during afternoon drive time on 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit, also discusses the college football media landscape and the so-called “rise of the middle class” in the sport, where tradition doesn’t seem to matter like it once did. There’s also talk of the state of the Spartan program and the fluctuating fortunes of Notre Dame.

Dan and Mike later break down the Oklahoma-Florida State game, as well as the chances for home underdogs Mississippi State (to LSU) and Toledo (to Boise), why football gambling should be legal and finally a nod to Dan’s new favorite football program, the West (expletive) Virginia Mountaineers.
