Stephen F. Austin speeds past McMurry 50-13

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP)—Brady Attaway paced Stephen F. Austin’s up-tempo offense as it ran 118 plays from scrimmage in a lopsided 50-13 victory over McMurry on Saturday night.

Attaway completed 34 of 58 passes for 330 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Stephen F. Austin (1-2). Eleven different Lumberjacks receivers had a reception. Tyler Boyd led all receivers with 11 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. DJ Ward added 9 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.

The Lumberjacks outrushed McMurry 252-69. Gus Johnson ran 16 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Fred Ford added 95 yards and a touchdown.

McMurry (0-2) went into the game expecting a challenge and the result was an improvement for the War Hawks compared to their 82-6 loss to Stephen F. Austin in 2011 season opener.
