BEAUMONT, Texas (AP)—Lamar was victorious in its first home game in 21 years as Andre Bevil threw for three touchdowns in a 21-14 win against Webber International on Saturday night.
Cody Hussey rushed for 81 yards, and Billy Chavis caught a TD pass and blocked a punt for the Cardinals (1-1).

Bevil was 16 of 34 for 228 yards for Lamar, which is playing as an independent before becoming Southland Conference football member in 2011.
