Reason No. 10,156 college football embarrasses all other manufactured sporting spectacles: They routinely admit naturally predatory animals into a stadium full of tens of thousands of loud, sweaty, highly excited people creating an almost palpable electric charge. At Auburn, they let a golden eagle, Nova, fly untethered around this scene before every game. And every so often, he enjoys making people shriek like they're on a roller coaster:
This is what happens when mascots remember what they are and forget where, and those pompoms start to look suspiciously like young Rock Ptarmigans. It's all part of the show, folks.
