Scouting Report on Jamont Gordon

by Jerry Meyer - 08/12/2004
Gordon is a freak athlete who is a tremendous play maker off the dribble. He can both shoot it and pass it extrememly well off the dribble. One of his best attributes is cleaning up on the defensive glass and leading the break. He has very good range on his jumper, but he does not shoot the ball nearly as well off the pass and has a slow release off the pass. He has the potential to be a very good defender but does not have much experience playing man-to-man defense.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
