FARMVILLE, Va. (AP)—- Lucas Woodhouse scored 16 points and Longwood shot over 55 percent from the field in an 88-70 win over Mars Hill on Saturday.
Tristan Carey made 6 of 13 field goals and scored 17 points, including a dunk for the Lancers (2-1) with 7:10 left in the first half that broke a brief tie. A a 3-pointer by Leron Fisher with 6:39 left in the first half gave the Lancers the lead and they pulled away from there.
Despite Isaiah Cuthbertson’s 10 offensive rebounds and 20 points, the Lions (0-3) fell victim to poor shooting (35.4 percent).
The Lancers’ Leron Fisher and Darrion Allen scored season highs with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
