SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP)—Spencer Collins scored a game-high 16 points and led three teammates in double figures as Wofford defeated Division III Emory & Henry 83-58 on Monday.
Collins hit 5 of 9 field goals and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line, Jaylen Allen added 13 points and Karl Cochran 12 for the Terriers (1-1). Collins and Allen fueled a 14-2 run in the second half as Wofford broke away to lead by 20 with 15 minutes to play
Stephen Brown led Emory & Henry with 15 points and Myles Turner added 14. The Wasps stayed close early, tying the score three times in the first half and leading briefly at 28-27.
Collins put an exclamation point on Wofford’s second-half breakaway with a dunk on a feed by Indiana Faithfull. Justin Gordon also dunked for the Terriers in the late going.
