The Redhawks (8-12, 3-5 Mid-American) went ahead to stay at 51-48 on Roberts’ 3-pointer with 7:18 to play. Central Michigan stayed close and it was 59-57 when Roberts scored with 1:52 remaining. Miami was 8 for 8 at the free-throw line in the final minute.
Will Felder scored 11 points and Will Sullivan scored 10 for Miami, which has won four in a row in the series and 13 of the last 14 against the Chippewas.
Kyle Randall led the Chippewas (9-12, 2-6) with 20 points. Blake Hibbitts had 12 points for Central Michigan, which has lost four in a row.
