The Pioneers dominated this game from the outset and with Royce O’Neale’s 3-pointer to put Denver up 3-0 just 42 seconds into the game, the Pioneers never trailed again, leading 34-18 at halftime and outscoring the Spartans 39-19 in the second half.
O’Neale finished with seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
San Jose State (9-8, 3-3) didn’t have a player in double figures with LaVanne Pennington and Chris Cunningham each scoring eight points to lead the Spartans.
