HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP)—Mike Muscala had 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Bucknell pulled away in the second half for a 73-59 victory over Colgate in a Patriot League game Wednesday night, the seventh consecutive win over the Raiders.
Bryson Johnson had 15 points for the Bison (15-3, 2-0), Cameron Ayers scored 14 and Joe Willman 10, which pushed him past the 1,000-point mark for his career.
It ties Bucknell’s second-best 18-game start in program history (the 1983-84 team opened 16-2).
Murphy Burnatowski led Colgate (6-12, 0-2) with 17 points, and Damon Sherman-Newsome had 13.
Bucknell’s largest lead in the first half was 35-29 on Bryson Johnson’s 3-pointer with 1:02 left. Colgate’s Pat Moore made a trey to close to 35-32 at the break.
Colgate’s Pat Moore’s made a jumper to pull within 47-43 at 12:16, but Cameron Ayers’ 3-pointer pushed Bucknell ahead 58-47 at the 5:54 mark, and Colgate never threatened.
