NORMAN, Ala. (AP)—Justin Colvin knocked down five 3-pointers en route to 19 points and Justan Banks recorded a double-double to help Alabama A&M beat Oakwood 103-77 Tuesday night.
Banks finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for Alabama A&M, which outrebounded Oakwood 50-31.
Alabama A&M (2-2) led 26-23 before closing the half on a 30-16 run to go into the break ahead 56-39. The Bulldogs shot 51.3 percent (20 of 39) from the field and made eight 3-pointers in the first half.
Alabama A&M stepped up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Bulldogs held Oakwood to 34.6 percent (9 of 26)—down from 44 percent (11 of 25)—in the second half. Seven of Oakwood’s nine makes came from 3-point range.
Brandon Ellis and Green Hill chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Alabama A&M and Dave Daly led Oakwood (2-4) with 19.
