Florida Atlantic (1-3) led 31-22 at halftime and stretched the advantage to 37-24 before Elon began its comeback charge. Lucas Troutman scored seven points during a 15-2 Phoenix scoring run that knotted the game 39-all with 8:07 left in regulation.
The Owls twice retook the lead in the second half, but both times, Isenbarger made a basket to either tie or put Elon ahead. Greg Gantt’s jumper for Florida Atlantic squared the score at 48-all with 1:47 to play, and marked the last bucket in regulation.
Freshman Stefan Moody led the Owls with a career-best 22 points.
