Layups by Marvin Frazier and Shamir Davis and two free throws by O.J. Evans built the Demons’ edge to 69-58 with 1:11 left, but Northwestern State missed 5 of 7 free throws down the stretch, allowing Campbell to cut into the lead.
Hicks also grabbed 10 rebounds for Northwestern State.
White and Darian Hooker scored 15 points apiece for Campbell, and Freeman scored 13.
