LOS ANGELES (AP)—Ayodeji Egbeyemi scored 20 points and Anthony Ireland added 19 as Loyola Marymount coasted to a 108-49 win over Pacifica on Friday night in the season opener for both teams.
Egbeyemi was 9 of 16 from the field, including a 3-pointer. He added eight rebounds. Ireland was 8 of 10 from the field, including a 3-pointer. Chase Flint had 14 points, with two 3-pointers. Marin Mornar had 13 points, a 3-pointer and 11 rebounds, Nick Stover had 12 points and Ashley Hamilton added 11 as the Lions went on a scoring frenzy.
At halftime, the Lions led 55-21, and at the 10:31 in the second half, led by 65 points.
Adam Tolbert scored 11 points for the Gladiators. Austin Payne and Dion Hudson added 7 points each. Payne and Richard Thomas each had two 3-pointers.
This is the third year of play for Pacifica.
