HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP)—Jamelle Hagins posted his 13th double-double of the season with 14 points and 18 rebounds and Delaware won its fifth straight game with a 71-57 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Hofstra on Tuesday night.
Jarvis Threatt led the Blue Hens (14-12, 10-6) with 20 points, hitting 13 of 14 free throws.
Delaware, which also defeated the Pride 67-66 on Jan. 4, snapped an 11-game losing streak at Hofstra.
The Blue Hens led 17-4 early, then the Pride (8-20, 2-14) tied it at 28. With Delaware ahead 49-40 with 11:40 to go, Hofstra used a 10-0 run, capped by Mike Moore’s 3-pointer with 8:02 left, to take its only lead.
Hagins answered with a dunk, sparking a 16-2 run by the Blue Hens, who also got 12 points apiece from Kyle Anderson and Khalid Lewis.
Moore’s 16 points led Hofstra, which has lost four straight and seven of its last eight.
