The dunk, Langford’s second basket, came on an assist by freshman Juan’ya Green, who scored 28 points. After a Rider timeout, Jonathan Thompson hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer. But after a TV review, officials ruled time had expired before Thompson released the shot.
The win came six days after Rider (11-16, 8-7) won at home, 74-73, over Niagara (11-16, 6-9).
Green led a furious rally for Niagara, down three points at halftime before trailing 53-36 with 16:16 remaining. Green hit his four 3-pointers in a 27-10 run to tie it at 63-all.
Novar Gadson, who had a career-high 26 points, gave Rider leads of 80-77 and 82-80, only to see Niagara tie it twice. Brandon Penn, with 21 points, missed a jumper with 32 seconds to go.
