The Black Bears led 14-9 early, with Alasdair Fraser scoring his team’s first 12 points. The Great Danes (16-12, 8-6 America East Conference) then rattled off 12 straight points to lead 21-14 en route to a 36-25 halftime lead.
Maine (11-13, 5-8) could get no closer than seven after that, the last time at 45-38 with 15:55 left. Luke Devlin then hit a 3-pointer to spark an 8-0 Albany run.
Devlin added 13 points and Mike Black 11 for the Great Danes, who edged the Black Bears 76-75 on Jan. 14.
Fraser scored 21 and Gerald McLemore 19 for Maine, which has lost three in a row. McLemore hit four 3-pointers to set the school record for career treys, surpassing Kevin Reed’s 311. He now has 313.
