JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP)—Mike Glover scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Iona to a 64-40 victory over Saint Peter’s on Sunday.
After a first half that ended with Iona leading 21-15, the Gaels shot 61.3 percent (19 of 31) in the second half to take command. Glover, a 66.8 percent shooter on the season who came in ranked second in the nation, was 6 of 7 from the floor in the second half.
Saint Peter’s (4-18, 3-8), which defeated Iona in last season’s MAAC tournament final in their last meeting, posted its lowest point total since a 55-30 loss to Robert Morris on Nov. 13, 2010.
Darius Conley, with 13 points, was the Peacocks’ only scorer in double figures.
