Cal State-Fullerton overpowers La Verne 86-44

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP)—Orane Chin and Kwame Vaughn scored 18 points apiece, Isiah Umipig added 17 and Cal State-Fullerton dominated the second half in its fourth straight victory, 86-44 over La Verne.

Chin also grabbed eight rebounds, and Vaughn had seven assists for the Titans (7-3), who were 34 of 58 (58 percent) from the field. Leading scorer D.J. Seeley, though, was held to four points on 2-of-10 shooting.

Trevor Woodland led the Leopards with 23 points, including five 3-pointers, but was just 8 of 25 from the field. La Verne shot just 25 percent (16 of 63) and got zero points from its bench.

La Verne made a game of it in the first half, pulling within 35-32 at halftime on a Woodland 3-pointer. But Fullerton went on a 23-2 run to open the second half, and the rout was on. The Titans outscored La Verne 51-12 after halftime.
