CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Langston Galloway had 23 points while Carl Jones had eight of his 19 points in the final three minutes as Saint Joseph’s took third place at the Charleston Classic with a 79-75 victory over Tulsa on Sunday night.
Jones set a tournament record with 38 points in Friday’s 78-70 loss to Seton Hall, but had only six points in the opening half as Tulsa’s taller guards denied him the ball. Jones found his game in the second half as he blunted a comeback by the Golden Hurricane (3-2). Jones answered Tulsa buckets with baskets of his own on three straight possessions in the final 1:32 for Saint Joseph’s (3-1).
Scottie Haralson had six 3-pointers and 24 points to lead Tulsa. Jordan Clarkson added 19 for the Golden Hurricane.
