Boston University defeats Canisius 70-62

BOSTON (AP)—John Holland scored 28 points and Boston University defeated Canisius 70-62 on Saturday for its sixth consecutive win.

Holland, a senior, has scored in double figures in 102 of 124 games. Darryl Partin added 20 points for the Terriers. The pair combined to take 33 of the Terriers’ 50 field-goal attempts—Holland was 8 of 19; Partin 7 of 14.

Canisius led 32-29 at halftime and the score was tied five times in the second half before the Terriers took the lead for good. Partin hit a 3-pointer for a 50-47 lead with 9:49 to play.

The Terriers led by at least five points over the final three minutes. The Terriers (16-13) hit 7 of 9 free throws in the final 40 seconds to secure the win.

Elton Frazier scored 16 points, Greg Logins added 13 and Gaby Belardo had 12 for the Golden Griffins (13-14), who have lost three games in a row.
