UC Irvine edges UC Santa Barbara 66-63

IRVINE, Calif. (AP)—Darren Moore scored 21 points, and UC Irvine survived a late barrage of 3-pointers from UC Santa Barbara to win 66-63 on Saturday night, snapping a five-game losing streak.

Patrick Rembert scored 16 points and Pavol Losonsky added 13 for the Anteaters (11-15, 4-8 Big West).

Orlando Johnson, coming off a 31-point performance in Thursday’s 59-47 win over UC Riverside, led the Gauchos (13-10, 6-6) with 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting.

UC Irvine led 64-54 with 1:39 remaining when UC Santa Barbara nailed three consecutive 3-pointers to cut the lead to 66-63 with 36 seconds left. Johnson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied it.
