Southeast Missouri beats Eastern Illinois 70-64
CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP)—Leon Powell scored 26 points as Southeast Missouri defeated Eastern Illinois 70-64 Saturday night to snap a six-game losing streak.
Lucas Nutt added 15 points for the Redhawks (6-17, 5-9 Ohio Valley), who hadn’t won since beating the Panthers on Jan. 8.
Jeremy Granger led Eastern Illinois (8-14, 4-7) with 29 points, and James Hollowell had 10.
Powell was 8 of 9 from the field, and Nutt hit three of Southeast Missouri’s four 3-pointers. The Redhawks shot 52.2 percent and led 36-32 at halftime.
Granger was 10 of 18 from the field and had four 3s.
