Louisiana Tech pulls away in 2nd for 80-57 win

HOUSTON (AP)—Olu Ashaolu scored 21 points and had a season-high 13 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season as Louisiana Tech defeated Houston Baptist 80-57 Tuesday night.

Ashaolu was 10 of 13 from the field while DeAndre Brown added 14 points and Cordarius Johnson had 12 for the Bulldogs (8-4), who snapped a three-game road losing streak.

Andrew Gonzalez led Houston Baptist (1-8) with 31 points.

Louisiana Tech shot a season-high 53.8 percent from the field and dominated in the post, outrebounding the Huskies 42-35 and outscoring them 46-14 in the paint.

The Bulldogs led 43-35 before pulling away in the second half. Tevin Hall’s jumper with 16:09 to play put Louisiana Tech up 51-40, and it led by double digits the rest of the way.
