Jackson helps Pepperdine trounce Redlands 89-71
MALIBU, Calif. (AP)—Lorne Jackson scored 20 points off the bench as Pepperdine defeated Redlands 89-71 on Thursday night.
Keion Bell added 19 points, a game-high nine rebounds and four assists for the Waves (4-7). Taylor Darby scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Kent Ervin made 4 of 8 3-pointers and scored 15 to pace the Division III Bulldogs (2-5). Jordan Sanvictores and Stephen Call scored 10 points apiece.
Pepperdine shot 47.5 percent (29 of 61) and dominated inside with a 48-30 rebounding advantage and 40-18 edge on points in the paint.
Jackson also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals. He acored seven points during a 17-0 run toward the end of the first half that helped the Waves to a 38-19 lead with less than 3 minutes to play.
Pepperdine’s advantage stayed in double digits the rest of the game. The Waves’ lead peaked at 23.
