Gardner-Webb beats Mary Washington 76-61

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP)—Stefon Johnson led four players in double figures with 16 points as Gardner-Webb defeated Mary Washington 76-61 on Saturday night.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs (2-0) were playing their second game in as many nights following a 78-70 win over Charlotte on Friday.

Luke Davis added 12 points, Jon Moore had 11 and Josh Henley came off the bench to score 10 as four players finished in double figures for Gardner-Webb. Henley also grabbed 13 rebounds to notch his sixth career double-double.

Gardner-Webb led 43-28 at halftime, and extended that lead to 62-34 with just over 11 minutes to go in the game.

Mary Washington hit 10 3-pointers in the game, but shot 19-for-62 (30.6 percent) overall from the floor and was outrebounded 54-33.

The Eagles were led by Bradley Riester, who scored 20 points. Michael Littlejohn and Ryan Farrar added 11 points.
