Middle Tennessee blows out Tennessee Temple 90-46

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP)—James Washington scored 21 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out four assists and had two steals in Middle Tennessee’s season-opening 90-46 win over Tennessee Temple on Friday night.

The Blue Raiders outrebounded Tennessee Temple 53-31 and held the Crusaders to 29.2 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers.

Kyle Hunt recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Trevor Ottley added 12 points and eight rebounds of his own.

Tennessee Temple trailed 46-18 at halftime after a 38-8 run by the Blue Raiders.

Leonard Lewis led the way for the Crusaders with 18 points and was the only player in double figures for Tennessee Temple.

Middle Tennessee shot 45.1 percent from the field for the night and turned the ball over 10 times—15 fewer than the Nov. 4 exhibition game against Lincoln Memorial.
