South Florida beats San Diego, 69-60

LAS VEGAS (AP)—Mike Mercer scored 19 points to lead four South Florida players in double figures as the Bulls defeated San Diego, 69-60, in the Holiday Hoops Classic on Sunday.

Dominique Jones scored 18, Jarrid Famous 14 and Chris Howard 11 for South Florida (10-2).

Devin Ginty led the Toreros (5-8) with 13 points. Brandon Johnson scored 12 and Roberto Mafra 11.

The game was tied at 51 with 8:40 to play when South Florida scored the next six points, four of them by Mercer. The Bulls, who shot 46 percent from the field, maintained the lead after that.

San Diego shot 38 percent from the field in the game.
