After slow start Hawaii cruises to 83-58 victory

HONOLULU (AP)—Roderick Flemings scored 18 points and Hawaii overcame a sluggish start to beat Chicago State 83-58 Saturday night.

Dwain Williams added 15 points while Petras Balocka and Adhar Mayen each had 12 for the Warriors (5-4), who have won three straight.

Christian Wall led the Cougars (3-5) with 20 points.

Hawaii led 33-26 at halftime, but quickly took control after the break. The Warriors used a 14-0 run early in the second half to build a double-digit advantage, and eventually expanded their lead to as many as 30 points.

Hawaii started 3 for 14 from the field and trailed by five with 11 minutes left in the first half. But Chicago State made only field goal during a nine-minute span, and the Warriors took the lead for good by scoring seven straight point in the final 1:03 of the half.
