STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP)—Bryan Dougher scored a career-high 25 points and made five 3-pointers to help Stony Brook defeat New Jersey Tech 60-46 on Saturday.
The Seawolves (4-1) are off to their best start since the 1993-94 season.
Dougher was 7-for-13 from the field and 5-for-8 from beyond the arc for Stony Brook, which was 6-for-10 from 3-point range. Dougher tied his career high with eight rebounds.
Stony Brook, which led 26-23 at halftime, opened the second half with a 15-6 run to lead 41-29 with 13:02 left. Reserve Desmond Adedeji scored all seven of his points during a 2:22 stretch.
The Highlanders (2-3) could get no closer than eight points the rest of the way and trailed by as many as 18.
Dallis Joyner and Tommy Brenton grabbed nine rebounds each for the Seawolves.
Isaiah Wilkerson scored 13 points for New Jersey Tech and Drejon Scott and Jheryl Wilson added 10 apiece.
