Hall scores 23 for Texas Southern

HOUSTON (AP)—Deandre Hall scored 23 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Texas Southern, which came from behind to beat Alcorn State 90-77 on Saturday night.

Hall was joined by five other Tigers in double figures, including Jacques Jones with 16 points and Matthew Miller with 11. David Burrell, Damian Henderson and Marc Ellis scored 10 apiece.

Alcorn State was led by Jonathan Boyd with 28 points and Troy Jackson with 20.

Texas Southern (7-24, 7-11 SWAC) outrebounded Alcorn 38-27, and the Tigers handed out 10 more assists, 21-11.

Alcorn State (6-25, 4-14) built a 40-34 lead at the break but was outscored 56-37 in the second half. Texas Southern shot 61 percent from the field in the second half, compared to Alcorn’s 50 percent.
