Quinnipiac beats Long Island U. 86-78 in OT

NEW YORK (AP)—James Feldeine had 22 points and Quinnipiac beat Long Island University 86-78 in overtime on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of Northeast Conference tournament.

Justin Rutty had 18 points and 16 rebounds for the Bobcats (15-15), while Jeremy Baker added 13 and Bryan Geffen 12.

Quinnipiac will play at top-seeded Robert Morris on Sunday in the semifinals. Robert Morris beat St. Francis, N.Y. 73-60 in the quarterfinals.

Julian Boyd, who tied the game at the regulation buzzer with a 3-pointer, had 17 points for the Blackbirds (16-14), while Kyle Johnson added 16, Jaytornah Wisseh 14 and David Hicks 10.

Boyd’s 3 at the buzzer tied the game at 73.

Geffen scored 20 seconds into the overtime to give the Bobcats the lead for good. Feldeine’s free throw with 1:21 to play gave Quinnipiac an 81-76 lead.
