Morgan State tops Coppin State 68-66
BALTIMORE (AP)—Reggie Holmes scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Morgan State to a 68-66 win over Coppin State on Thursday night.
The Bears (20-11, 13-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shot 51.7 percent in the first half (15-29) to take a 41-33 lead into intermission.
Morgan State outrebounded the Eagles 41-23 and scored 15 second-chance points.
Kevin Thompson and Rogers Barnes scored 10 points each for the Bears. Jermaine Bolden and Marquis Kately chipped in five assists each as Morgan State had 13.
Vince Goldsberry led Coppin State (12-18, 9-7) with 14 points and Tywain McKee added 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Bears won their second in a row, after a 49-47 loss at Hampton on Feb. 23 snapped an eight-game winning streak.
