Norfolk State defeats Hampton 90-68
NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—Michael Deloach scored 27 points and Norfolk State snapped a four-game losing streak with a 90-68 victory over Hampton on Saturday night.
Deloach, who entered averaging 21.3 points, went 10 of 12 from the field to help the Spartans (9-17, 7-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) shoot 59.6 percent from the floor (34 of 57).
Norfolk State also made a season-high 12 3-pointers, hitting 48 percent of its shots from behind the arc.
The Spartans pulled away by going on an 11-1 run for a 28-14 lead with 8:50 left before halftime. Norfolk State then made 3-pointers on four of five possessions for a 51-29 advantage with 58 seconds left before halftime.
James Williams scored 14 points, Kyle O’Quinn had 11 points, Kevin Worsley added 10 points and Aleek Pauline had 12 assists for the Spartans.
Darrion Pellum led Hampton (13-15, 6-8) with 14 points.
