Oral Roberts beats S. Dakota St 63-58
TULSA, Okla. (AP)—Marcus Lewis scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds to help rally Oral Roberts past South Dakota State 63-58 Thursday night.
Lewis’ three-point play off of an offensive rebound gave the Golden Eagles (16-13, 14-3 Summit League) a 59-58 lead with 2:42 left. Another Lewis basket on a 5-foot bank shot with 53 seconds remaining made it 61-58.
South Dakota State’s Michael Palarca missed a 20-footer that would have tied the game.
Lewis had 13 rebounds and Robert Jarvis scored 16 points for the Golden Eagles.
Anthony Cordova led the Jackrabbits (12-18, 7-10) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
South Dakota State took its first lead, 42-40, on a Cordova basket with 13:30 left. A 3-pointer by Jarvis and a basket by Kyron Stokes gave Oral Roberts a 46-45 advantage with 11:20 left, but Pallarca’s basket pushed the Jackrabbits ahead 47-46.
South Dakota State built the lead to 58-53 with 5:23 left but wouldn’t score again.
