Bowling Green edges Kent St. 67-66
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP)—Otis Polk’s layup with 47 seconds left put Bowling Green up by a point, and the Falcons held on to beat Kent State 67-66 Thursday night.
Polk’s layup made it 66-65, and a free throw by Erik Marschall gave Bowling Green a two-point lead. A free throw by Kent State’s Chris Singletary with 3 seconds remaining narrowed the lead to 67-66, but he missed the second shot and a chance to send the game to overtime.
Bowling Green led 34-31 at halftime, but there were 12 lead changes in the second half, including a layup by Singletary that put Kent State ahead 65-64 with 1:32 to play. But that was the last field goal for the Golden Flashes.
