Gardner-Webb beats Presbyterian 78-72

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP)—Aaron Linn scored 15 points and Joshua Henley recorded a double-double, helping Gardner-Webb hold off Presbyterian 78-72 on Wednesday night.

Henley scored 10 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Runnin’ Bulldogs (12-16, 8-9 Big South Conference), who snapped a five game losing streak.

Auryn MacMillan added 13 points, Anton Silver had 11 and Jonathan Moore also chipped in 10.

Al’Lonzo Coleman led the Blue Hose (11-17, 8-9) with 24 points, Josh Johnson scored 11 and Chase Holmes had 10. The Blue Hose have lost five of their last six.

Gardner-Webb led by one point at halftime and outscored Presbyterian 36-31 in the second half, sealing the win with five free throws in the final 57 seconds.

The Runnin’ Bulldogs hit 8 of 18 3-point attempts compared to the Blue Hose, who went just 3-for-15.
