Louisiana-Lafayette beats New Orleans 76-60
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP)—La’Ryan Gary scored 20 points, and was one of four Louisiana-Lafayette players to score in double figures in a 76-60 win over New Orleans on Sunday night.
Chris Gradnigo and Tyren Johnson scored 13 points apiece and Randell Daigle added 10 for the Ragin’ Cajuns (10-17, 7-9 Sun Belt Conference).
Kyndall Dykes led the Privateers (11-17, 6-11) with 20 points, Jahmal Burroughs had 11 and Darrian McKinstry chipped in 10.
The Privateers led by one points at the break, but the Ragin’ Cajuns outscored them 48-31 in the second half to seal the victory. The win avenged a three-point loss at New Orleans on Jan. 8.
The Ragin’ Cajuns outscored the Privateers 44-24 in the paint and 22-12 off the bench, while outrebounding them 39-30.
Louisiana-Lafayette has won 12 straight games over New Orleans in the Cajundome.
