Texas A&M beats Texas Tech 79-73
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP)—Chinemelu Elonu scored a career-high 21 points and got 12 rebounds to lead Texas A&M past Texas Tech 79-73 on Saturday night.
The Aggies trailed only a few times in the second half and never more than two points. Both teams went to the free throw line often but the Aggies had more than twice the attempts (51) as did the Red Raiders (22)
There were 56 fouls called in the game.
Josh Carter added 20 points for the Aggies (19-8, 5-7 Big 12).
Alan Voskuil and John Roberson scored 16 each, and Nick Okorie added 14 to lead the Red Raiders (12-15, 2-10).
The loss was the fourth straight for Tech.
