Fla. International beats Troy 87-86
MIAMI (AP)—Alex Galindo scored 17 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 3 seconds left, to lift Florida International to an 87-86 win over Troy on Thursday night.
The Golden Panthers (11-17, 6-9 Sun Belt Conference) blew a 13-point lead with just over six minutes left in the game, as the Trojans (17-11, 12-4) ripped off a 19-4 run to take an 86-84 lead with 26 seconds remaining.
After FIU took a timeout 6 seconds later, Michael Dominguez—who led FIU with 24 points—dished it out to Galindo for what would be the game-winner. Richard Delk’s shot at the buzzer was no good for Troy.
Freddy Asprilla added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Panthers, while Tremayne Russell had 14 and Russell Hicks 10.
Delk led Troy with 24 points, Tom Jervis had 15 and Michael Vogler 14.
