Evans has 17, Wis.-Green Bay tops Valparaiso 67-61

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)—Terry Evans scored a team-high 17 points and every Wisconsin-Green Bay starter scored in double digits as the Phoenix topped Valparaiso 76-61 in a Horizon League game on Wednesday night.

Three straight steals, two by junior point guard Rahmon Fletcher, sparked a 14-0 second-half run that helped the Phoenix (20-8, 12-4 Horizon League) snap a two-game losing streak.

Fletcher finished with 16 points, six assists and four steals. Troy Cotton added 15 points, Mike Schachtner scored 13 and Ryan Tillema added 10 for Green Bay. Evans also had seven rebounds, five steals and four assists.

The Crusaders hit seven of their first eight shots, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range, to take an early 19-14 lead.

Urule Igbavboa led Valpo (7-20, 4-12) with 15 points and Michael Rogers added 13.
